Raleigh Residential Real Estate –News for the Raleigh, North Carolina Schools – Wake County votes to move 19 elementary schools to go year-round calendar

Yesterday the Wake County Schools board approved transitioning 19 elementary schools to a year-round calendar. This will allow for 3,000 more students in addition to the new building program. This year the Wake County School system has over 7,400 more students than last year. Similar enrollment growth is projected for next year.

In addition to elementary schools going to year-round schedules, the Wake County School Board is considering the potential of converting East Garner, East Wake, Leesville, North Garner, Salem and Wakefield Middle Schools to a multi-track year-round calendar.
