Raleigh Residential Real Estate – Raleigh, NC goes Against the National Trend – Existing Home Sales are UP With Higher Prices in Raleigh, NC
This week the National Association of Realtors reported that existing home sales were down with softening prices. See the following headline from their website:
WASHINGTON (August 23, 2006) – Existing-home sales were down in July, while home prices in many areas are slightly below year-ago levels, according to the National Association of Realtors®. Read the full article: Existing-home sales down in July
This was NOT true for the Triangle, NC Area. In the Triangle MLS Economic and Market Watch Report for the 2nd Quarter of 2006 it reported that for the Raleigh region, home sales were up 6.4% in the second quarter. In addition, prices rose 7.2% over 2005. They are projecting the number of sales and prices to continue their upward trend in the upcoming months.Â
In addition, existing home sales in July in Durham, Johnson, Orange and Wake County, North Carolina were up 4% over 2005.
