Raleigh, North Carolina Schools

Whether you are relocating from another state to the Raleigh, North Carolina area or if you are just moving across town, schools are an important consideration. The Raleigh, NC area has become a very desirable place to live. We traditionally have had lower unemployment than the rest of North Carolina and the country as a whole. We have good schools, colleges and universities and there are a large number of College graduates in the area. 

All of this good news for Raleigh, NC has produced rapid growth and the area school systems are straining to keep up. It continues to be a very hot topic of discussion on how the Raleigh School systems can build and pay for the schools needed to keep up with our population growth.

In general, Wake County has excellent schools and there are over 100 schools that have about 13,000 teachers and staff. There are a wide variety of magnet schools programs that offer innovative approaches to learning. Entry in the various programs is by lottery.

Johnson County Schools rank in the top 20% of school districts in NC. There are 36 schools in Johnson County with 27,500 students.
