Raleigh’s News and Observer is reporting that tomorrow a groundbreaking is scheduled for Highwood properties new building project that will house RBC Bank. The 31 story building will be Raleigh’s tallest building.

It may not be the tallest building for long. Another developer is considering a condo, hotel office tower at the corner of Hillsboro and Dawson streets. It is also scheduled to be 31 stories tall. At this time construction on this building is scheduled to begin in June of 2007.

This new development parallels the rise in demand for condos and in downtown Raleigh, NC.
