Cary, North Carolina was named in 2005 Money Magazine’s “hottest town” in the East with a population greater than 100,000. In 2006, Cary, NC was again recognized by Money Magazine as one of the Best Small Cities in America, ranking fifth on the magazine’s 2006 list of Best Places to Live.

Cary is known for having the highest median income in North Carolina and also ranks at the top for the number of PhD’s. About 70 percent of Cary’s households earned more than $50,000 per year in 1999.

Cary is known for its technology and is the home of the SAS Institute, which is the world’s largest privately held company. It also has locations for IBM, MCI WorldCom, Lucent Technologies and Siemens. You can understand why Cary calls itself the Technology Town of North Carolina.

Another great reason for considering relocating to Cary is its security. Cary ranked the 10th safest of 369 large cities nationally and the safest in the South during 2005. In addition, its Police and Fire departments and Emergency Medical Services are nationally accredited.

Cary has lots of family centered events like the Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival, the Pops in the Park at the KOKA Booth Amphitheatre in Regency Park, and much more.
